At Funtime, we don’t believe children have “short attention spans.” We believe attention is a gift that a child gives to things they are genuinely interested in.

1. Intrinsic Motivation

At Funtime, you won’t find sticker charts. When a child spends an afternoon baking, the reward isn’t a grade — it’s the warm, crusty loaf of bread they share with their friends. When a child finally masters a difficult crochet stitch, the “prize” is the sense of personal power.

2. Deep Concentration and the “Flow State”

When a child is given the freedom to choose an activity that matches their inner developmental needs, they enter a state of Deep Concentration — the “Flow State.” Time seems to disappear.
